Over the last years 3D scanning had developed rapidly, and became an important research topic .

In the past, obtaining 3D model of a person was a complex task reserved for 3D artists, but as the technology advances , it seems like in the near future it will be within a reach of every owner of a 3D camera & 3D printer..

3D scanning is a relatively new field, and thus challenging . We will discuss some problems that are still open and undergoing a research.

This project follows an article – “CopyMe3D” that describes a novel approach for creating a shelfie .

In this project we will present our method to generate scanned 3D miniatures of a person , a.k.a. ,“shelfie.
