Syllabus

• Introduction: What is a router? How does it work?
• Output queueing: Work-conservation.
• Input queueing: Head-of-line blocking. Switch scheduling. Bipartite graph matching. CIOQ architecture. Proof of stability using Lyapunov functions. Birkhoff-von Neumann decomposition.
• Buffered crossbars
• Load-balanced routers
