Eyal Feigenbaum

Electrical Eng. Dept., Technion - IIT

Welcome to my website!

I am a Ph.D. student in the Electrical Engineering Faculty in Israel Technion, where I also have received my B.Sc. and M.Sc.
I am part of the
micro-photonics group, under the supervision of Prof. Meir Orenstein. My Ph.D. dissertation is on “Optical nonlinear effects in plasmonic structures”.

What interests me most is LIGHT, from free space propagation to micro-photonics wave-guiding. Especially:

± Micro-photonics &  Light wave propagation

± Surface Plasmon Polariton for nano-optics

± Nonlinear optics and solitons

In my research I study plasmonic structures, where the slow wave nature of the light leads for tight localizations of fields, giving rise for nonlinear effects insignificant otherwise. The intense dispersion and negative index of the metal brings into the scheme very interesting phenomena as: sub-diffraction limit confinement, slow light, negative group velocities, etc.
