Meshing Natural Outdoors Scenes from Sparse and Noisy Point Clouds

Project Description

This project addresses the problem of reconstruction of urban scenes, which are represented by unorganized, noisy and sparse point clouds.  We examine three reconstruction algorithms that that suit this problem. We add to these algorithms improvements that are essential for the adaption of the algorithms to the relevant clouds. We conduct a comparison of the algorithms. We identify main failure points of the algorithms and try to solve them by adding noise filtering to the cloud  and appalling  Laplacian smoothing on the restored models.
