3D Room Reconstruction from a Video Sequence
introduction

A panoramic image gives an impressive view of the environment. However, in confined spaces, it may be difficult to grasp the spatial scene arrangement from this flat image. A 3D model of the room would be a much better visualization technique.
Shooting a video sequence for panorama generation is much easier than shooting a sequence of still images because the overlap between succeeding frames in a video is always large.
This project presents an algorithm for a 3D room model reconstruction from a video sequence. The algorithm generates a panoramic image of the room from the video sequence. Then, with some external user assistance the algorithm estimates the room plan and camera position which enable to reconstruct a 3D model of the room.
