The “Soccer 3D project” is only one part of a larger project, its goal is to digitalized soccer television broadcast and present them in 3D computer graphics environment.
The first part is to take ordinary TV soccer game play broadcast, analyze it and extract the position of the players, referees and the ball at a constant sample rate.
The second part and the one this project implements, is to convert the data to the 3D CG presentation, the field and the other entities are modeled in 3D graphics engine and the game events are presented in this 3D environment.
