Automating Joiners
Computer Graphics and Modern Art

Project Description:

Joiners is a term coined by the artist David Hockney. There are two kinds of Joiners. Joiners of the first kind are created by taking several pictures of a scene from different points of view, and putting them one over the other to form a joint image. Joiners of the second kind are made of squares, taken from different images, and placed one aside the other to form a full image.
Besides its artistic purposes, Joiners can be used for more useful purposes such as representation of all the pictures you took in your trip to Paris\Rome\...
Such a representation can replace the way picture-albums are presented in the computer today.

Project Goal:

In this project we will develop algorithm and create an application for creating Joiners automatically from a set of images.
