Faculty Openings

The Department of Electrical Engineering at the Technion invites applications for tenure-track faculty positions in all areas of Electrical and Computer Engineering.

The department ranks among the world’s top ECE departments. A recent (2009) international review committee, chaired by the MIT Provost, concluded: "The Electrical Engineering Department at the Technion is a world class academic unit. The faculty, the technical staff, and the undergraduate and graduate students are among the best that can be found in a top ranked institution anywhere in the world."  The department attracts outstanding students, has excellent facilities, and is immersed in and closely cooperates with the leading Israeli high-tech community. The department offers highly competitive start-up funding, and faculty members have access to Israeli and European Union research operational and infrastructure grants.

Candidates are expected to have a strong interest and track record in research. Candidates should have a clear background in EE or CE and a Ph.D. degree in a relevant area. Postdoctoral research experience is highly recommended, although we will consider exceptional candidates without postdoctoral experience. Outstanding candidates at the associate or full professor rank will also be considered. The successful candidate is expected to pursue excellence in research and teaching at both the graduate and undergraduate levels.
Application Procedure:
Applications should be submitted by email to the Search Committee at search@ee.technion.ac.il. Applicants will receive an email acknowledgement.

All applications should include:
  • a curriculum vitae and list of publications,
  • names and contact information of 3-5 references,
  • a research statement summarizing previous research and future research plans,
  • a statement of teaching philosophy and interests,
  • lab requirements - estimation in terms of sum ($) and space (square metres).
Please submit Adobe Acrobat PDF documents.
We accept applications year round but it is recommended to send applications by January 1st for each academic year.

Postdoc in Electrical Engineering
Host Professor: Yonina Eldar
The  Signal Acquisition Measurement and Processing lab at the Andrew and Erna Viterbi Faculty of Electrical Engineering at the Technion is looking to recruit postdoctoral and PhD positions.

Research Topics: The SAMPL Lab focuses on sampling, modeling and processing of continuous-time and discrete-time signals and on new design paradigms in which sampling and processing are designed jointly in order to exploit signal properties already in the sampling stage. This approach has the potential to drastically reduce the sampling and processing rates well below the Nyquist rate, typically considered as the ultimate limit for analog to digital conversion.

The laboratory facilitates the transition from pure theoretical research to the development, design and implementation of prototype systems in areas ranging from bioimaging trough communications, laser optics, cognitive radio and radar systems.

Research projects are available in the areas of phase retrieval, superresolution imaging, radar systems, ultrasound and MRI imaging, sampling over graphs, blind deconvolution, communication systems.

Qualifications: Applicants should have a Ph.D. (or they are about to graduate) in Electrical Engineering, or applied mathematics. A strong background in signal processing or mathematics is required. Excellent English writing skills are an advantage.
